What we Do

MISSION STATEMENT

Road to Freedom is an organisation that aims to provide refugees fleeing war-torn countries with immediate aid, which includes food, clothing and hygiene kits.  Working with official NGO’s and charities on the ground at borders and refugee camps, we personally hand aid to those men, women and children in desperate need.

Road to Freedom have developed a professional team of volunteers who extensively fund raise each month ahead of their journey to a different location in crisis. Each volunteer effectively distributes aid in a professional and humane manner alongside NGO’s and other on-site charities.

Alongside our valuable work on the ground, we consistently strive to raise awareness in the international worlds about the tragic effects of the continuing vulnerability of the refugees affected by war.

GOALS OF RTF

  • To help to alleviate the suffering of refugees in a humane and professional manner by providing basic aid.
  • To support and strengthen NGO’s and charities on site with distribution of items to refugees.
  • To raise awareness in the international worlds about the tragic effects of the continuing vulnerability of the refugees produced by war.
  •  To develop a professional team of volunteers to assist in fundraising and distributing aid.

Places We’ve Been

The Road to Freedom team travel to a different location in crisis each month.
Please see the map below to follow our journey across Europe and click the icons for more information on each location.

FOLLOW OUR JOURNEY

The Road to Freedom team has been on the move over the last few months journeying across Europe where we began in Samos, a beautiful Greek island tucked away in the Aegean Sea, the idyllic views marred somewhat by the arrival of so many distraught men, women and children. Thereafter our travels took us to the Grande Synthe refugee camp in Dunkirk, one of the worst we have witnessed by far.

Next came Macedonia which gave birth to some of the closest bonds our team have shared with our family from across the globe. Lastly we visited the Idomeni camp on the borders of Macedonia and Greece where we were so shocked by the impossible situation these people were trapped in that we have decided to return again shortly to do what we can hoping to inject even the tiniest fragment of hope.

How to Help

Whatever you can do...makes the world of difference!

WHERE DOES YOUR MONEY GO?

Since Road to Freedom has been in operation your donations have helped to save hundreds of people from going without food and clothing. We have witnessed many refugees come to shore wet, cold and hungry and thanks to your generous out pours we have been able to offer them dry clothing and food. Each time we arrive at a new destination we work together with other NGO’s and charities on the ground to assess what aid is most urgently required. We will then go to the necessary outlets to purchase this and then head back to camp to distribute to those who are in desperate need.
